How to Wash and Store Our Medical Clothing?

1. Washing — take care of the fabric and color
At Louis Lanier, we use high-quality technical fabrics that combine durability with comfort. To keep them looking and performing their best for as long as possible, follow a few simple rules:

• Washing temperature
  We recommend washing medical clothing at temperatures up to 40°C. This is sufficient to remove everyday dirt while maintaining the fabric’s properties. Avoid higher temperatures, as they may cause shrinkage or fading.
• Detergents
  Use mild detergents without bleach or harsh chemicals. Liquid detergents for colored fabrics or technical wear work best.
• Spinning and drying
  Choose a gentle spin cycle — excessive spinning may distort the fabric’s structure. Air-dry your garments out of direct sunlight. If you use a tumble dryer, select a low-temperature program.

2. Storing — let your clothing “breathe”
Proper storage affects not only the appearance of medical clothing but also workplace hygiene.

• Hanging instead of folding
  Store garments on hangers to avoid creases and deformation. This is especially important for jackets, coats, or more tailored models like Lormont.
• Air circulation
  Ensure your clothing isn’t packed too tightly in the wardrobe. Allow air to circulate freely to prevent musty odors and moisture buildup.
• Avoid contact with cosmetics
  Do not store garments in the same cabinet with oils, disinfectants, or strongly scented cosmetics — these can permanently penetrate the fabric.

3. Good to know
Wash clothing before first use to remove any production residues.

Avoid using a steam iron immediately after washing — excessive heat may damage the fabric.
